-Continued from Saturday at the Nashville Boogie-
The last day at a weekender is always a sad one. Nobody is ready to go back to their everyday lives. But look at how beautiful the inside of the Opryland is. That and good friends sure help to pick your mood up. Well, and the realization that you still have one more night to party!
The after party took place on Sunday evening at The Johnny Cash Museum downtown. The venue was cool because it is a museum, and it is done really well. It is full of artifacts from Johnny's life. We especially loved the early pieces. However, it wasn't a great location for this type of party. For one, it didn't serve alcohol. I don't want to sound like a drunk or anything, but I like my booze, and especially while on vacation!
There was a small room where the event was held that had bands. We got to see Danny B Harvey and Rosie Flores. However, we didn't end up staying for all of the show because we spent a bit of time looking around the museum and talking to folks.
I did get to catch up with Eddie Angel (Los Straitjackets) and James Intveld. What a treat for me!
As mentioned before, there was no booze to be had at the museum so we walked around the corner to our favorite honky tonk, Robert's. They had live music, food and drink. It was quite a time!
This was the perfect way to end the weekend! We got to spend the last night with our friends, old and new from near and far. In the end, isn't that what this is all really about? We are so thankful to have so many loyal friends in our life! Who else would meet up with you for a long weekend a few thousand miles away?
