I'm WILD for Alexandra of CA

I was recently granted the pleasure of working with Alexandra of CA. She made me a custom jumpsuit to share with you all and I couldn't be more thrilled with the entire experience!  I have been waiting months to show you all, I could hardly keep it to myself!

If you are not familiar with Alexandra of CA, it is a brand new vintage reproduction clothing line based out of Southern California. The owner and designer, Alexandra, has only been doing this for about 6 months but she has already made quite a name for herself. She started the line with jumpsuits because there is a big need for them, but plans to expand in the future.

In Alexandra of CA's own words: "My garments are not only inspired by 50's designers like alfred shaheen and Ceeb of Miami but also by the modern rockabilly gal. I understand that today's gal loves the vintage feminine structure provided by such designers and also loves the idea of having a special one of a kind item. My vision is to provide 40's-60's inspired high quality fabric garments that if original, would be highly sought after. At this moment my jumpsuits are made from original vintage and new fabrics which come in one of a kind and limited quantities. This zebra corduroys a specialty item that sold out at 12. So proud that out of the 12, the clients include amanda suter, micheline pitt, nikki hill, and yourself."

And Alexandra of CA does make pieces she should be proud of. I have never received a custom vintage reproduction as well made as this, and I don't say that lightly. The pattern was modified from a vintage pattern to fit my measurements. The inside of the bodice is lined with a built in and boned bra, the zipper is metal, and elastic smoking runs all the way down the side from the bust to the calf to insure a perfect curve hugging fit. This feature was great for me because I can never seem to find a vintage jumpsuit that fits me right all over. I must have larger calves then they did in the 50's because vintage pants are always super tight on me there. This smoking made it so I can actually move! I was able to dance all night in this. Another unique feature of this jumpsuit is that the straps are adjustable three ways- halter, V neck and strapless. I love the versatility of it, and the fact that it can feel fresh every time you wear it. The only problem I ran into while wearing it is that the side of my bra kept popping up over the top of the bodice underneath my arm. I don't think this is a flaw with the garment, but with my bra. It must stick up too high under the arm because that happens in most of my bra tops and Shaheen dresses. Assuredly, most gals would be supported enough in this well constructed bodice to not need a bra at all!

Alexandra of CA is stocking up her Etsy shop and currently taking custom orders. She has started making the most amazing lame jumpsuits, lace jumpsuits and even two piece toreador sets! Remember, a lot of her stuff is made in limited quantities, so get it before it is gone. I can't wait to get my next one, that is how much I love this jumpsuit. I know you would love one too, so visit her Etsy shop today! You can also like her Facebook page to stay up to date with all of her newest styles.

Thank you so much to Alexandra of CA for allowing me to wear one of your outstanding custom vintage reproduction creations!
