Vivien of Holloway

I am honored to have been asked to review some items from Vivien of Holloway. I have been eyeing their stuff forever, but never took the plunge and ordered anything. Maybe it's because I was worried about shipping overseas? I feel silly now, because the items they sent me are spectacular. These UK girls really know how to make some cool clothes!

When talking about cool, you don't get much cooler than red bluejeans. Just ask Gene Vincent! When I saw VOH's 1950's red denim jeans on their site, I loved how they appeared to hug the models' curves. It is so hard to find 50's style jeans that are fitted through the hip and thigh. I was hoping these would be just what I was always looking for. And boy, they are more than I could have even imagined! These jeans show off curves for days! These jeans feature a high waist, tapered leg, and side zipper. They are 97% cotton and 3% elastane, giving them just the right amount of stretch. The length was perfect to be worn straight or cuffed. I chose my size based on their size chart, and they fit perfectly. Remember to use the size chart girls, because UK sizes aren't the same as US sizes.

I also loved all of VOH's Gypsy Tops. I picked out a classic length one, so I could tuck it into a skirt or jeans, but it also comes in a crop top. This is the Classic White with Navy Ribbon. It just screamed Marilyn in River of No Return to me. This peasant style top features cap sleeves, elastic neck/sleeves, and vintage ric rac trim. I chose the M and it fit correctly.

Even though these items are made and shipped from London, they got to me super fast! I was really impressed. No problem with shipping at all. Thanks again to Vivien of Holloway for allowing me to sample these items! I'm sure you gals will be seeing me in these red jeans a ton this fall!

Do you own an VOH pieces? If so, tell me about them in the comments below!

XOXO

  3. I have a VoH tartan circle skirt, which I absolutely adore; I managed to pick up a pair of their pedal pushers cheaply on eBay, which ended up being a blessing as even though I'd bought the correct size (which is the smallest they do) I had to take a good couple of inches off the waistband and about an inch off the inseam so that they'd fit me properly.

  4. When I first saw those jeans I thought they were Freddies of Pinewood which are another great repro brand. Looking really wonderful in your VoH pieces!

  5. Love Vivien of Holloway! Quality items! I was lucky enough to visit their shop in London so I could see which of their items work for me in person rather than pay overseas shipping and have to make returns. Though I have to say their shipping charges are very reasonable for the UK ;) I own and love a few of their gypsy tops, a pencil skirt, and a pair of the swing trousers. Sadly their jeans did not work on me but they look perfect on you!

  6. I wore a Vivien of Holloway dress to my high school prom in around 2009! It was a black halter-neck with a huuuge petticoat. Most original dress there. It was also one of the few places that I could find anything that complimented my figure, as I was larger then than I am now. <3 them.
