This month marks a full year that I have had advertisers on this site. It's a pleasure to run this site, and I have you all to thank for it. I am so appreciative of my advertisers for keeping my site going! I am also grateful for all of my long-time and new readers. Thank you for supporting me and my advertisers:
The New England Shake-Up is officially less than 100 days away! I have been saving my pennies, booking my tickets and planning my outfits. I am just about ready! How about you, are you going? If you need some incentive, have a look at this killer line-up: The Bellfuries, Big Sandy, Jittery Jack, The Millwinders, The Outta Sites, Roy Rapid, Amber Foxx and more. The Shake-Up is THE "must see" weekender for sure!
Another incentive to attend this weekender is that it is held at a lovely little hotel right on a lake, The Sturbridge Host Hotel. It is settled just outside of Boston, which is a beautiful place to visit in the fall. You can turn this weekender into a lovely week long vacation! The hotel is already sold out for this year, but you can get on the waiting list. There are also a lot of other hotels around with rooms still open. You can find info on the hotels on the website.
The New England Shake-Up is still a new weekender. This year marks the second year for the event organized by Beck Rustic of Boston, MA. I was lucky enough to attend the first Shake-Up, and I will be at this year's. It was a great weekender! You can see my recap of events on Thursday, Friday Day, Friday Night, Saturday Day, Saturday Night and Sunday Night of the Shake-Up. Tickets are now on sale on the website for the low price of $80. Tickets are selling really fast this year, and the event may sell out, so I recommend you buy them soon. I hope to see you there!
The Pinup Pop Up Shop is a new event from The Oblong Box Shop. It is a day of vintage Pinup shopping, hair, makeup, nails and more. You can pick up a few new outfits, talk to a professional hairstylist and get tips on how to get the perfect pinup 'do! Want nails like Dita? No problem - visit their Nail artist! Then once you are all ready you can even do a mini shoot with their professional photographer in a vintage set that features an all original bar, record player & amp; fireplace combo all in one!
Another highlight of this unique event is special guest plus size model and body positive activist, Tess Munster! She will be selling her #effyourbeautystandards merchandise...
this is your chance to meet Tess in person and become a part of the movement!
There is also a giveaway going on on Instagram right now. You can post the above flyer and tag #pinuppopupshop to be entered into the raffle drawn at the event. They have some great prizes that have been donated!
Look at that, I am my own advertiser now! That's right, I finally opened my own Etsy store and decided I should advertise it here. I have a few things in my shop that would be perfect for summer and upcoming weekenders- sequins, lurex and rhinestones! Check it out, you may find something you can't live without. Rockabilly Socialite Vintage, for the Socialite in you!
Rockabilly Zombie Weekend
I am so excited to welcome Rockabilly Zombie Weekend as an advertiser on The Rockabilly Socialite, my first movie ad!
Rockabilly Zombie Weekend is a new horror movie that is taking the rockabilly world by storm! The feature length movie takes place in modern day Central Florida. Young lovebirds, Becky and Grant, plan to have a rockabilly themed wedding out at the old farm, despite warnings of a West Nile Virus outbreak. Things go horribly wrong when the virus spawns zombie-creating mosquitoes, who are feeding on the wedding guests, as well as the other locals of course! What unveils can only be described as pure horror!
The DVD is being released on 7/1/14. You can order the DVD directly from the movies' website for only $14.99. The movie also has it's own 17 song soundtrack which is available on CD and download. The soundtrack features all original songs from 10 Floridian bands and one Louisianan band. There are also tee shirts for sale on the website.

Have you heard about Calaverita Luv yet? It seems like so many pretty pinup girls are wearing their earrings now! I have seen them all over Instagram. If you are not familiar with Calaverita Luv, it is a vintage reproduction lucite jewelry line with a modern twist. The designer takes inspiration from vintage glitter lucite and adds her own spin, such as sculls, cherries, and even Disney! These pieces are all made by hand in the good 'ol USA, El Paso Texas to be exact. Yee haw!
Calaverita Luv has the largest selection I have ever seen in a lucite jewelry line. Just check out the Facebook page to see the options and place an order!
Thank you again to all of my wonderful advertisers.
