VLV 17: Tuesday Night

9:57 PMDollie DeVille

I am happy to present my first post of my Viva Las Vegas 17 series!

We always get into Vegas on the Tuesday night before Viva Las Vegas so that we can check in, relax and catch up with close friends before the whirlwind weekend starts. By this time on Tuesday night people, the "rockabillies" have already started trickling in and bee-lining strait for the bar. The Alligator Bar that is! On Tuesday night that is where you will find everyone, especially the people who came in from overseas.

However, you could find me and my girlfriends at the Peppermill. The Peppermill is a 24 hour restaurant and bar that has been in business since 1972. It is a popular place with the rockabillies because it is as kitschy as it gets. It has a mirrored tile ceiling, pink velvet couches, fake cherry blossom trees, and a fire pit surrounded in icy blue water. They have a huge drink menu and an even bigger food menu. We each tried a different cocktails and appetizers. I don't know what took us so long to finally try it out, but I am glad we did. I think this is going to be a must from now on! I highly recommend you check it out!

After the Peppermill we cabbed it over to Frankie's. Frankie's Tiki Room is another "must" for rockabillies in town for Viva Las Vegas. Frankie's is a 24 hour tiki bar with the best tiki decor in Vegas and the best drinks in the world. You can order the drinks in a signature souvenir tiki mug to take home. At one point I tried to collect them all and eventually ran out of room. WARNING: These drinks can  catch up with you, so drink with caution. If you have never been to Frankie's, I must insist you go next time you are in Vegas.
