With Viva Las Vegas Rockabilly Weekend fast approaching, I wanted to share some info about one of my favorite vendors at Viva: V-Male Detroit Vintage! V-Male is a Viva Las Vegas staple and a "must see" booth in my opinion. The V-Male booth is the place to go for deadstock vintage lingerie (bras, girdles, corselettes, slips, nightgowns), reproduction lingerie from Rago (bullet bras, waist clinchers, garters), high waist undies, stockings, crinolines, etc. V-Male also has burlesque items like pasties and ruffly butt undies. I buy all of my vintage and vintage reproduction lingerie exclusively from V-Male while at Viva. It's the best time to try stuff on and stock up. They have a huge selection with a wide variety of sizes and colors.

Any vintage loving gal knows the importance of proper foundation garments. Your vintage clothing just won't lay correctly over a round bra from Victoria's Secret. Cigarette pants and high waist skirts need the right high waist undies worn under them. There is just no substitution for proper vintage and vintage reproduction lingerie. I wear a bullet bra daily and I will never go back! If you are new to vintage lingerie and will be at Viva Las Vegas, I implore you to stop by V-Male's booth first and pick up a bullet bra, high waist undies, a girdle and stockings. You will feel like a million bucks during the rest of the weekend! If you have a man in your life, or are looking for one, he will appreciate it also.

I am convinced that Vic "Panty Man" Skelly, the owner of V-Male, knows more about lingerie than any man alive. His motto is "Everyone wants to get into my panties", and it is true! He is a Viva veteran and has been  vending at Viva for over 13 years. He is a hoot and someone you must meet at Viva. Vic opened up a brick and mortar store located in Detroit in 2007 to sell his vintage lingerie, vintage reproduction lingerie and vintage clothing. Therefore not only does V-Male sell lingerie, but they also carry vintage clothing, swimwear and accessories in their booth during Viva. Two years ago I got the most darling deadstock three piece play set from them!  V-Male really has everything you need to complete your look. They even have stuff for men! The V-Male booth is really jam packed with goodies. You could spend hours looking at everything!

As you can see, V-Male already carries a ton of really cool stuff that you want. But I wanted to let you in on a little secret.......
This year V-Male is unveiling a special collection of hand dyed vintage bras and girdles!
They have bras in a wide range of sizes, even large sizes for the well endowed ladies such as myself. The girdles also come in a range of sizes, all DEADSTOCK! These pieces have been hand dyed in a few color options. This way you can create your own perfectly fitting set while still enjoying the look of a matching set in a fun color. This is so secret that there aren't even photos for me to show you all. I just found out about it and I am so excited! I can't wait to get a matching pink set!

In case you were wondering where the name V-Male came from, I'll let you in on that too. Vic named the store after the "Victory Mail" from WWII. Victory Mail was an ingenious way to photograph letters from loved ones and put them onto microfilm until they got to their locations, where they were then printed back onto paper again. It saved a lot of space and weight on the overseas flights, and lifted the mens' spirits during their difficult years abroad. I'm sure V-Male is continuing to lift mens' spirits, and then some!

Vic - Everyone wants to get into his panties!

  1. I think the thing I miss about going to Viva the most (I haven't been able to go since Viva was at the gold coast) is Vic and some of my other Vendor friends.
