Have I mentioned yet how much fun I have had doing the VLV Fitness Challenge? It feels great to have other gals doing this challenge with me. It's great to see girls support each other unconditionally, be sensitive towards everyone's unique challenges, and remain positive throughout the challenge.
Personal Update: Last week I was pretty much perfect with my diet and exercise. Every meal had mostly fruits or veggies, with some carbs, protein and fat. I worked out hard 6 days a week with one day of rest. I did have one 'cheat' day this week, on Saturday, when I had vegan pizza and a few drinks at a winery. When in Rome, right?

This week is not starting out so well. I missed my workout today because I had to study. I may have to do that one more time this week also. I have been pretty good with my diet so it evened out. I lost 1.2 this week. I am down 5.6 lbs total and I couldn't be happier! I have never held at a lower weight, so this is a big deal. I already passed my goal of 5 lbs, so I hope to keep it off or push further toward my 10 lbs goal.
This Week's Goal: Amp up your metabolism! As you cruise into the final month of the challenge, it is time to put your metabolism into high gear. A better metabolism means you will burn more calories throughout the day (even when you're just sitting around looking fab) and will help you drop pounds faster. Here are three ways to crank it up:
1. Break up your meal plan and eat five small dishes a day.
2. Try eating spicier foods.
3. Incorporate multi-joint exercises that will work more muscles at one time, like squats!
I haven't started my two-a-day workouts yet, because of some stuff I have going on in my working life. I hope to start next week though if I can get a few things off my plate. I know it will make a huge difference in my workouts! Split your meals and split your workouts! Let's do this!
