I can't believe we are already on week three of the VLV Fitness Challenge! If you have yet to commit, it's not too late! Just read my last post and follow the links to the posts prior to that. You can start all of it now and catch up in no time!
Personal update: I can’t report on my weight this week because I haven’t weighed in yet. I weigh in on Monday night at Weight Watchers, but this week I had an appointment to get my taxes done. So I will weigh in on Tuesday night instead and update this post. If I had to guess, I assume I stayed about the same. I started eating my normal foods again, and even had a few drinks this weekend. I did watch my over all calories, and tried to dance a lot this weekend, so hopefully I just didn't gain anything. I weighed myself at home and was happy to see I am still at the same weight I was last week (139), but I like to weigh in at Weight Watchers as well just to be sure.
This week’s goal is: Focus on rest and recovery. Getting eight hours of sleep a night is a must because your body burns fat more efficiently when it is well rested. And while it’s important to crank up your fitness routine, make sure to give your muscles a break by scheduling recovery days when you either skip the gym or do a low-impact workout. In just a few days, you may notice that more shut-eye and your new fitness regimen will actually help decrease the amount of stress you feel on a day-to-day basis and increase your energy levels.
Why don’t you…..
Make an inspiration board?
Last year I did this and it was really a big help. My inspiration board (which is not the photo above), included the swimsuit I was trying to fit into for the VLV Pool Party, a handmade weight loss graph, and some inspirational quotes and photos (mostly vintage pinups or girly bad asses). This year I have my goal dress on a mannequin in my dressing room, the weight loss chart included in my last VLV Fitness Challenge post, and some more cool photos. If you need a little bit more to keep you going, why not give it a try? Place it on the fridge, the closet door or the bathroom door.
