VLV Fitness Challenge: Week 1

8:00 AMDollie DeVille

It's here! It's here! With much anticipation we start the 12 Week Viva Las Vegas Fitness Challenge. If you read my introduction post you have committed to the the challenge, set your personal goal and pick a food plan that works for you. As a refresher, I aim to lose 5-10 lbs and I will be following a (free) reboot plan from Reboot With Joe with my own personal spin on it.

We are going to kick off our challenge with our first goals of the week:

-Weigh in! If you have a weight loss goal, then knowing your starting weight is imperative. Choose to weigh in weekly at the same time, same place and in the same outfit. That will give you the most consistent results. I choose to weigh in weekly at my local Weight Watchers.

-Get Measured! Take your waist, arm, hip and thigh measurements and keep them in a safe place. That way at the end of the challenge you can refer back to them and see if they changed.

-Take your before photo! Taking a before photo is so important. We may not notice any changes day to day, but you can really see the difference in before and after photos. So before we can be an "after" we have to be a "before". Consider taking the photo in two piece swimsuit or a sports bra and shorts. That way you can see changes in your midsection. Also, if you are feeling brave, you can share it!

-Plot your meal strategy for the week! Now that you chosen a basic food plan, write it down! Chose a meal for breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks for each day. Also indicate what time you are going to eat each meal. If you can't commit to planning each meal in advance, at least commit to writing everything you eat down in a journal for the week. I will allow no starving in this fitness challenge!

My food plan for the week took me quite a while to make. I am out of practice! It will get easier as the weeks go on:

Make it a goal to eat a rainbow everyday. This should help you get all of your servings of fruits and veggies. I try and start the day with hot water with lemon. I much prefer coffee, but that won't help me detox. Don't forget to drink lots of water during this challenge!

Once I make my meal plan for the week I turn that into my shopping list and get everything in one trip. I hate going to the store everyday. The beauty of making your own meal plan is that you can personalize it to your ideal diet and your families needs. So, while it may take some work initially, your week will go more smoothly and ultimately save you time in the long run. Don't forget to make some extras and plan eat the leftovers another day.

Good luck to everyone this week!

XOXO
Dollie

    2. Let me try this again! Mobile is hard to use, sorry! I got it at Weight Watchers. It's a 3 month tracker. I love it! You may be able to make or download something similar in Excel.
