I just received a custom jersey from Hometown Jersey. I am so thrilled with it that I just couldn't wait to show it off!
If you are not familiar with Hometown Jersey, it was first started by TK Smith's wife Jill when she made custom jerseys for his website. They got a great response, including from JD McPherson who wanted one with his hometown on it. Just like that, Hometown Jersey was born! Now she is customizing these jerseys with not only hometowns, but business names, hobbies, car clubs, and now blogs!
The jerseys she uses are made exclusively for Hometown Jersey in America by a knitwear company that was founded in 1921 and has been family owned and operated since 1958. These jerseys are still made in the motorcycle style of the 40's and 50's. The fabric is high quality fine gauge 100% cotton knit and nice and thick. The shirt features a crew neck and reglan sleeves that are either full length or 3/4 length depending on your arm length. Jill hand sews on all of the letters herself, which are made of felt.
These jerseys come in Men's sizes small through extra large. I definitely think they are unisex and can be really sexy on women. I ordered the small and thought it fit nicely.
On a woman the sleeves are full length, giving you the option to wear them down or pushed up. I have heard from some men that the overall length was a little short for their liking, but it seemed perfect to me. Vintage shirts were cut shorter than modern ones, so that could be why.
The jerseys come in either black, navy blue, red or burgundy. I chose black for a traditional look. I love it paired with high-waist jeans, a belt and boots. I know I will get a ton of use out of it this winter.
Holiday Shopping Guide Tip: Personalized one-of-a-kind gifts are the best! There is still time to order a custom jersey for Christmas, but you have to move fast! If you don't know what to customize it with, you can purchase a giftcard or order a pre-made one from TK's site. Not only are these jerseys bad ass, but you can also feel good about supporting a small business with a local female owner!
Thanks to Jill from Hometown Jersey for knocking it out of the park!
