I want to thank all of my readers and my advertisers for making this my most successful year yet at The Rockabilly Socialite.
While everyone is celebrating Christmas today, the rockabillies all know that Christmas really comes on Easter Weekend. Really, the end of the year is just a hump to get over before we slide into Viva Las Vegas in spring. This year's Viva is shaping up to be one of the best ones yet. I have already starting my "must see" band list, outfit planning, and will start saving come January. January is also a hot time to buy tickets. Don't put off buying your ticket much longer than January because they sell out earlier every year. Get your tickets here!
Pssssttt.... Did you hear about the new weekender Tom Ingram is starting in 2014? It's called the Rockabilly Rockout and will be held at The Gold Coast from October 3rd through 5th. Hotel rooms are already booking fast. You know I have mine, so book yours now. I'm expecting this weekender to be like the "golden years" of Viva. If you missed it the first time around, don't miss it this time. And remember, you heard it here from The Rockabilly Socialite first!
I am so happy to welcome Tammy Lynn and Myles High to The Rockabilly Socialite. If you are not familiar with Tammy Lynn and Myles High, they are a husband and wife team from New England that fuse rockabilly, 50's RnR, with R&B, soul, jazz, surf, and country to create a sound that's both familiar and fresh.
"Turn My Music On" is their latest release. This record features Tammy Lynn and Myles backed by keyboard, sax, drums, guitar, and bass. The songs on this album are very dance-able. I personally really liked "Sweet as My Baby" and "Maryann." There are some great originals on the album, as well as some fun covers like "Mean Mean Man," "I Ain't Drunk" and "Good Rockin' Tonight." "The Box It Came In" is another great song, a little more traditional country than the other songs. "Rye On the Rocks" is unlike any other song on the album. It's a lot more hard rock. I really dig it! Overall this is a solid record with something for everyone!
You can get this record via the website. You will be able to choose whether to download it from Itunes or order the physical copy on CD Baby or Amazon.
Did you see the review I recently did on the adorable custom patio set that Pinup Revival made for me? I love this set so much. I packed it for my trip to Mexico where I am celebrating Christmas this year, so I hope to come back with even more amazing pictures of this set. You can get a ready to wear piece from their Etsy store or order your own custom piece. It was a blast to work with these lovely ladies to create this one-of-a-kind vintage reproduction outfit.

The Oblong Box Shop is a great online webstore that has clothing and accessories for men and women in a lot of different styles. They are really a one stop shop! Now is the time to start stocking up for Viva Las Vegas, right? I think everyone needs one of these Comet Clutches, they are perfect for Viva!
While there you can stock up on Besame lipstick. That is a must for Viva as well! I recommend the Red Hot Red or the Carmine. They also have some great bakelite on the site right now, which is always popular. I imagine it will go super fast because the prices are great ($20!).
I just scored an amazing sapphire colored lurex swimsuit for Viva from Crash The Party. But don't worry your pretty little head, I saved some vintage swimsuits for you! Head over to the Etsy site now to snatch them up before someone else does! There are also some fab sweaters, pants, heels and dresses starting at just $22! Go now, I will wait.
