Rockabilly Vacations

New England , here I come!

Growing up I wasn't afforded many opportunities to travel. Sometimes I feel like the biggest loser because all of my friends are such world travelers. To my credit though, they are all professional musicians that get paid to travel. My husband and I have been pretty responsible with our finances and spent the last 8 years setting up our life- careers, buying a home, paying of our cars, decorating, etc. We always wanted to go to an over-seas weekender but could never seem to find the funds. While we still can’t seem to swing it, we are getting closer. I feel like I am finally settled into a position in my life that I can afford to travel a bit. So this year I laid off the shopping and booked some trips, the first one being to New England and later in the year to Playa del Carmen Mexico!

In a few days I am leaving Los Angeles and heading to New England for a brand new rockabilly weekender, the New England Shake-Up! The Shake-Up is a three day weekender that takes place at the Sturbridge Host Hotel in Sturbridge Massachusetts . There is a great lineup, late night record hops, vintage vendors, car show and a pool party. The Shake-Up is put on by Beck Rustic of Retroactive Northeast.

I have never been to this part of the country, but I can’t imagine a better time then fall to do it. I am actually going solo to this weekender because my husband will be touring with his band The Outta Sites in New York , Connecticut and Boston a week later. Luckily, I have a very good friend that I am meeting up with when I get into town. I am flying into Logan International so we plan on touring Boston and Salem before heading to Sturbridge for the weekend.

I will keep you all updated on my adventure to New England . I plan on coming back with a lot of pictures, videos and new memories to share with you all. In the mean time, feel free to follow me on Instgram and Facebook to keep up with me in real time. Give me a shout out if you are going to the Shake-Up!

XOXO
Dollie
