The Rhythm Rocker Weekender!!!!

11:05 AMDollie DeVille

This post is long over due!

Real Gone Productions and Rarin’ To Go present The Rhythm Rocker Weekender this October 15th, 16th, and 17th. This weekender is taking place at the Seaport Marina Hotel in Long Beach California. This event has been actively promoted since the beginning of this year, with tons of flyers being passed around at Viva Las Vegas, yet many people still do not know about it. It really is a shame, because it is shaping up to be quite a fun event. Long Beach is a great place to hold a weekender. The weather is nice, the hotels are cheap, and there are plenty of vintage/antique shops and restaurants near by. Most of the music is taking place at night, leaving your afternoons free to lounge by the pool, go to the beach, or visit “retro row” on 4th street. If you don’t know what retro row is, and you will be at this weekender (I know a few of you will be), then you must check out 4th street. Basically, it is the best vintage/antique/mid-mod shopping in all of southern California. Just make sure to bring plenty of money, and plan to spend it! There are tons of great live bands on two stages from all around the world (see flyers below), DJs spinning for the nightly record hops, and vendors. On Saturday afternoon there is a tiki pool party and a car show too!

Unfortunately, with the good comes the bad. You can’t have a show on the beach in California without abiding to the 2am cut off time. That’s right, the even shuts down nightly at 2am due to local liquor laws. Speaking of liquor, this event is 18+. Yep, you heard it right folks! I love to see the younger kids out supporting the scene and keeping it alive (I was there once, we all were), but I just hope they behave themselves (like I did). The hotel is old, in a good way, but small as well. Let’s just call it “intimate”. I am already calling it that the hotel will be overloaded, so plan for that. The rooms are already sold out at the Seaport Marina Hotel, but there are still rooms available at other local hotels. Tickets are still available for purchase at the event and in select locations.

There are two offical pre-partys, and one after party. I will just post all this info and more about the event in flyers at the end of this post.

So, now you have the scoop on this event. I am planning to have a crazy good time, and I hope you are too. Now, I just have to decide what to wear! Who has any time for that?

  1. Wohoo! I can't wait. See ya there!

  2. I thought tickets were not going to be sold online after the 6th? I have mine so I'm not worried about it!

  3. I just checked, and you are so right, Kim! Looks like they are not selling them online anymore. I don't know why, because you just pay with paypall and print out your confirmation, so I don't know why you cant do that up until the day before the event. Weird. I will fix that. Thanks for the heads up!

  4. See you next week! I'm coming down Thursday night.

  5. Yay! I will be going down there Thursday too, for the pre-party. I have to support my boys The SideWynders. Hope to see you there!
