Blog Rules and Moderation

11:50 AMDollie DeVille

From this point on a new set of rules and moderation will be in effect here at The Rockabilly Socialite. I am sorry that I have to police this blog, but it is necessary in order to keep it going. Some ugly and hateful things have happened here, and that is something I can not stand for. From this point on I will not allow cyberbullying of any type to take place.

This blog may only be used for the following purposes:

- To provide a common forum for discussing rockabilly music, shows, weekenders, vintage clothing and accessories, retro hair and makeup tips, mid-century design, and common interests.

- To share relevant experiences

- To act as an alerting mechanism for upcoming rockabilly events

-To share my "rockin' hepcat adventures"

In order to achieve these goals, all participants in The Rockabilly Socialite are required to comply with the following terms and conditions of participation. By participating in this blog, users hereby agree to be bound by and warrant their full compliance with the following Terms and Conditions. In the event that any participant fails to comply with these Terms and Conditions, such participant may be denied the right to further access and participate in The Rockabilly Socialite.

I will hold MYSELF and all of my commenters accountable to the following rules:

-No cyberbullying. No name calling, bashing, bantering or negative talk. You are allowed and urged to state your opinion here, but not if it is a directed inappropriately at a specific person. No mobbing, please.

-Do not post any defamatory, libelous, vulgar, obscene, abusive, profane, threatening, hateful, racially, ethnically, or otherwise offensive or illegal information or material, and do not utilize this blog in any illegal manner.

-Do not post any information or other material protected by copyright without the permission of the copyright owner. All images of Miss Dollie DeVille within this site remain the copyright of Miss Dollie DeVille. For example: You do not have the right to take my photo and put it on your facebook. I repeat, DO NOT post my picture on your facebook, twitter, or myspace page. It is sad that I have to mention that, but maybe it is not obvious to some people.

-All postings shall be of an informational nature and for informational purposes only. Commercial use or any other unauthorized use of this blog is prohibited. Do not use this blog to solicit or conduct business, including the direct or indirect marketing of users' products or services, in any manner. This blog may not be used to provide information, materials, products, or services in exchange for compensation of any kind. For example: No spamming, a la “vote for me for this contest”.

-Remember we are all here to gain knowledge, be around like minded people, and most importantly have fun.

-Realize when someone is being sarcastic and joking. Please don’t take anything too seriously.

-Lets stay pretty: If you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all.

-This is not a public forum, even if you think it is. This is my personal blog. The only reason you can comment is because I LET you comment. I give the power and I can take it away. I reserve the right to delete any and all comments I deem not suitable for my blog.

- If you have a problem with anything contained within this blog, please contact me directly with your email, and we can resolve the issue privately.

Again, I am sorry that I had to post this, that it had to come to this, but it needed to be said. I don’t want to take the fun out of this blog, but things need to be run a little differently in the future, on my part and my commenters part.

Thank you

-Miss. Management

  1. So sad when one needs to censor themselves =(
    This is YOUR place...
After all.. your blog headline says it all:
"The Rockin' Hepcat Adeventures of Miss Dollie Deville"

  2. Sweet. I'm down. How's the weather your way? It's GORGEOUS here! :)

  3. I commend you for posting this. It's much better to take the high road and remove yourself from an ugly situation. I say print the other two along with all of the comments and then delete them from your blog. After all, the token "legal action" term was thrown around just to bully you. By printing them, you'll have a copy of what transpired should you need it, but it ends the drama created by so many people with too much time on their hands.

Stay true to yourself and nothing else matters! I hope you have a much better day today!

  4. Anonymous is right. Do what you gotta do and then move on.

More important stuff to think of like... how to weather the weather, if that makes any sense. Plus, you have your house to get pretty since you're proceeding on that front (yay!). And, let's see... real vintage dresses with names like Shaheen and Swirl.

Then there's going home to your hubby...

I'd say you have some things to look forward to even in your immediate future!

  5. Thanks Darlene. You are right, girl! I am one busy lady, I don't have time to dwell on drama. I have much more important things to get back to blogging about. he he. Stay tuned ladies!

  6. It's a shame it had to come to this. I'll see you in October!

  7. I'm in :)
Sorry you had to go this route..I wish I didn't but I've gotten comments that linked to viruses before so I keep moderation AND word verification for my blog. And, yes, I have had some say they can't be bothered with all that so they won't leave a comment...that's fine, I probably didn't want to read it ;P
    Live and learn, right?
Now...go and enjoy your life !!!!!!

  8. I have 4 words for you....I LOVE YOUR BLOG!!!!! from a rockabilly music and vintage clothing lover downunder!!!! (who is also a massive fan of Rusty and the Dragstrip Trio-- hee hee)

  9. Oh yeah!!!! I love Rusty too! Whoooo hoooo. Welcome to my blog Miss. Downunder. I am glad to meet you!
